National Football League: Week 11 predictions

By Airman 1st Class Patrick McKenna 316th Wing public affairs

Each week I'll give a brief preview of every game. I'll make my picks and keep a running tally as the season progresses to see how well (or terrible) I'm doing. Anyone who would like to email me their picks is more than welcome. For all those interested in submitting their picks, please email patrick.mckenna@afncr.af.mil by Sunday at noon.

Washington @ Dallas - The Redskins lucked out last week. The Broncos were rolling until Kyle Orton hurt his ankle and had to leave the game. The Cowboys are just too talented on both sides of the ball to lose this division game.
Pick: Cowboys

Cleveland @ Detroit - It's too bad the powers that be didn't pick this gem for the Sunday night game.
Pick: Lions

San Francisco @ Green Bay - The Packers defense completely dominated the Cowboys last week. They face an easier test this week against the one dimensional 49ers offense. If Green Bay can keep Frank Gore contained, the 49ers will have trouble putting points on the board.
Pick: Packers

New York Jets @ New England - The Patriots are going to be extra motivated after their choke job Sunday night. Look for them to take no prisoners and drop the hammer on the struggling Jets.
Pick: Patriots

Pittsburgh @ Kansas City - The Steelers are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Bengals last week and will be motivated to be back on track quickly. Fortunately for them, they get to play the Chiefs who are in the bottom ten in both run and pass defense. They will also be without their best offensive player, Dwayne Bowe, who was suspended for four games.
Pick: Steelers

Seattle @ Minnesota - With Minnesota's ferocious pass rush giving Matt Hasselbeck fits all day long, and Adrian Peterson a lock for 100 yards and a touchdown, the only way the Seahawks even have a prayer of winning this game is if they force the Vikings to turn the ball over ... a lot.
Pick: Vikings

Atlanta @ New York Giants - Things could not be worse for the Falcons. They have lost three of their last four games and are now without their star running back Michael Turner, who's out with the dreaded high ankle sprain. Now this week they get to travel to the Meadowlands to play the Giants, who are coming off a bye. The Giants will be able to run well against Atlanta's 26th-ranked rush defense and could win this game by double digits.
Pick: Giants

New Orleans @ Tampa Bay - As long as the Saints focus on this matchup and not their Monday night game next week versus the Patriots, they should have little trouble disposing of the rebuilding Bucs.
Pick: Saints

Buffalo @ Jacksonville - The Bills are in a tailspin, having just fired head coach Dick Jauron and the ticking time bomb Terrell Owens due for another on field tantrum. This week won't be the one where Buffalo gets back on track. The Bills have the worst rush defense in football, and Maurice Jones Drew is a lock for a huge game against them.
Pick: Jaguars

Indianapolis @ Baltimore - The Colts are coming off a thrilling victory over the Patriots Sunday night, and the Ravens are coming off an easy one Monday night. These teams match up well with one another. The Colts obviously have the edge in the passing game, and the Ravens have a better running game and defense. The Colts could be out of gas this week at Baltimore, and, if Ray Rice has a solid game on the ground, the Ravens will give the Colts their first loss.
Pick: Ravens

Arizona @ St. Louis - The only thing that the Rams have going for them is Steven Jackson. He's the lone bright spot for this team, and, even if he has another stellar game, the Rams don't have the defense to contain the Cardinals. The Cards should have no problem scoring 30-plus points and beating the Rams by two touchdowns.
Pick: Cardinals

San Diego @ Denver - Even if Kyle Orton can play, he's not going to be 100 percent, and the Chargers will be in his face all game. The Chargers will be looking to build on last week's impressive victory over the Eagles and should win this road game.
Pick: Chargers

Cincinnati @ Oakland - Even if the Bengals have to play without starting running back Cedric Benson, they still have plenty of offensive weapons and an underrated defense. The Bengals might struggle, but they won't lose to the Raiders.
Pick: Bengals

Philadelphia @ Chicago - The Eagles will most likely be without Brian Westbrook, who suffered yet another concussion in last week's loss. Rookie LeSean McCoy has shown nice poise when filling in for Westbrook, and the Eagles shouldn't miss a beat on offense. The key to this game is how many times the Bears turn the ball over. Cutler has shot himself in the foot too many times to be trusted to win a game this big.
Pick: Eagles

Tennessee @ Houston - Since making the switch to Vince Young, the Titans have finally started to resemble the team that finished 13-3 last season. Chris Johnson is having an MVP caliber year and this team is playing too well to pick against.
Pick: Titans
