CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT SHANE H. PILGRIM

Chief Master Sergeant Shane H. Pilgrim serves as the 89th Airlift Wing Command Chief. He is the principle advisor to the commander on matters influencing the health, morale, welfare, readiness and effective utilization of all enlisted members of the SAM Fox Wing responsible for global special air mission airlift, logistics, aerial port and communications support for the President, Vice President, combatant commanders, senior leaders and the global mobility system as tasked by the White House, Chief of Staff of the Air Force and Air Mobility Command. Additionally, it operates an Executive Airlift Training Center and Government Network Operations Center.

 

CMSgt Pilgrim is a native of St Vincent and the Grenadines, and grew up between Barbados and Brooklyn, New York.  He entered the Air Force as a Vehicle Mechanic and subsequently retrained into the Aircraft Loadmaster career field.  Chief Pilgrim has led at the Squadron, Group and Joint Headquarters levels and is a veteran of numerous contingencies including Operations Restore Hope, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve. He has amassed close to 4,000 hours of aircraft flight time including over 700 hours of combat time, in multiple aircraft including the C-130E, AC-130U, C-17A, UH-60 and CN-235. Prior to his current assignment, Chief Pilgrim served as the Chief of Joint Enlisted Leader Development for the Joint Staff.
