JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md.,
Janeva R. Maxson assumed command of Detachment 5, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, at Joint Base Andrews, Md., June 17, 2021. The 316th Wing hosted the leadership transition.
Maj. Gen Tom Wilcox, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center commander, presided over the ceremony to activate the transfer of command to Maxson, former deputy of Det. 5's retired commander.
As the new leader of Det. 5, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Maxson is responsible for providing installation and mission support capabilities, to include civil engineering, security forces, and financial services to the Air Force District of Washington and National Capital Region. She now serves as the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center commander's senior representative to the Air Force District of Washington and the National Capital Region.
