Do you live more than 30 minutes, or 100 miles, from your Primary Care Manager?

TRICARE needs you to update your records

TRICARE will begin reassigning patients who live farther than 30 minutes, or 100 miles, from their military treatment facility on Sept. 30.

Others who may be affected are patients who do not reside in the TRICARE region where they are enrolled or have a residential address listed as a military post office.

Affected patients will be sent a letter informing them of their options and actions they must take. Any required paperwork can be done at a local TRICARE service center or by mail.

If the patient does not take action, they may be reassigned to a primary care manager within 30 minutes of their residential address (if available) or, in some cases, disenrolled from TRICARE Prime. If disenrolled from TRICARE Prime, the patient will still be able to receive health care coverage under TRICARE Standard and Extra, but increased out-of-pocket expenses will be incurred. Patients may also enroll in USFHP where available.

To ensure you are receiving the best care possible, please keep your Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS, records accurate and up-to-date. To make changes to records, visit https://www.dmdc.osd.mil/appj/address/indexAction.do; call 1-800-538-9552 or send your changes to "Defense Manpower Data Center Support Office, Attn: COA, 400 Gigling Road, Seaside, CA 93955-6771."

This requirement reflects TRICARE guidelines and regulations and serves to support your needs with the highest quality and timely health care services. For additional information please contact your local TSC or call Health Net Federal Services at 877-TRICARE or 877-874-2273.
