UH-1N Precautionary Landing at Lee Jordan Field

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, MD. --

A UH-1N Huey helicopter assigned to the 1st Helicopter Squadron based at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland made a precautionary landing during a routine training mission at Lee Jordan Field in Silver Springs, Maryland at 9:10 a.m.

 

The precautionary landing was in response to a 90-degree gear box chip light indication and the aircraft landed without incident at the first available, safe location.

 

The crew’s timely and appropriate response assured no damage to aircraft, personnel or property.

 

A maintenance team responded to troubleshoot the issue and the helicopter has safely returned to Joint Base Andrews.
