SLAT enriches JBA leaders’ understanding of America’s Airfield
Senior leaders hear about the current status and major projects on the flightline known as “America’s Airfield” from subject matter experts (SMEs) representing joint partners at Joint Base Andrews during the first Senior Leader Airfield Tour (SLAT) at JBA, Md., Aug. 26, 2021.  SLAT is a joint venture between the 316th Wing and 89th Airlift Wing. “America’s Airfield” is a 2,000 acre, dual runway, $3 billion strategic and diplomatic airfield that connects all 24 of JBA’s mission partners. Its portfolio supports priority and training air refueling missions, maintains airspace control alert for the National Capital Region (NCR), provides airlift of United States government senior civilian and military leaders worldwide 24 hours a day, daily, 365 days a year, and frequently stands alert to ensure continuity of operations for the NCR. Main Gate: OPEN 24/7

  • Virginia Gate: OPEN Monday - Sunday, 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. 
  • Pearl Harbor Gate POV Lane:  OPEN Monday - Sunday, 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.; CLOSED on AFDW Family Days and associated holidays.     
  • Pearl Harbor Gate Commercial Lane: OPEN Monday - Sunday, 5:00 a.m. - 9 p.m. 
  • Pedestrian Gate: OPEN Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • North Gate Outbound: CLOSED

All JBA personnel and patrons will comply with CDC and installation guidance: Face masks are required while indoors on Joint Base Andrews, regardless of vaccination status.

The COVID-19 vaccine is now being offered to all beneficiaries 12 years of age and older at Joint Base Andrews. You must have an appointment and access to JBA. For more information on accessing JBA, please visit

 If you are eligible, you can schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment by visiting our COVAX portal at The COVID-19 vaccine will not be offered in our Immunization Clinics. Please bring your own colored collared shirts. NO WHITE COLLARED SHIRTS! If you are getting both Visa and Passport photos, you will need two different colored shirts. Walk-in hours: Wednesday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. No appointments available.
