Environmental inspection protects, people, environment

From Oct. 22-26, Andrews will conduct an internal Environmental, Safety, Occupational Health Compliance Assessment and Management Program (ESOHCAMP) inspection. The purpose of the ESOHCAMP is two-fold. First, is to improve environmental, safety and occupational health management and execution though the identification of areas for improvement. The second is to build supporting documentation to fund and correct those deficiencies. Simply, ESOHCAMP assessments are a snap shot in time of the status of Andrews as it relates to compliance with federal, state, and local laws regulations, and Air Force instructions. One benefit of the ESOHCAMP is to self-identify and correct potential environmental, safety, and occupational health problems. Once the assessment is complete, the ESOHCAMP Team prepares a report that highlights both positive and negative findings. Findings should be finalized in late 2007 or early 2008 and provided to all affected organizations. All organizations that receive findings are responsible for closing them. The 316th Civil Engineer Squadron Environmental Flight is responsible for tracking all findings.
