Joint Base Andrews moves to Health Protection Condition Bravo

316th Wing Public Affairs

Due to a decrease in COVID-19 numbers throughout Maryland and the National Capital Region, Joint Base Andrews moved to Health Protection Condition Bravo today.

At the direction of Col. Tyler Schaff, commander of the 316th Wing and Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Andrews has transitioned to Health Protection Condition Bravo. Under HPCON Bravo, individuals are asked to maintain strict hygiene regimens, wear face coverings as required and continue to follow CDC protocols as they relate to COVID-19.

“In today’s complex environment, it is critical that we keep our focus on maintaining mission readiness. Response to local conditions will require periodic HPCON adjustments, in the same way that ever-changing threats necessitate FPCON adjustments.” Schaff said. “While we must remain diligent in our effort to mitigate this virus, the current conditions and data support an important step forward in returning to normal operations.”

All eligible individuals 12 years and older can receive the booster vaccine at the COVAX site on base every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Appointments can be scheduled at https://covidvaccine.sparkxcell.com/.

The most updated information is available on the Joint Base Andrews website at https://www.jba.af.mil/Home/COVID-19-Coronavirus/. The website also includes hours of operation for all facilities on base.
