Personal & Family Readiness

The purpose of the Family Readiness Program is to support leadership in attaining mission readiness by providing education and services to the total force and families to improve their life skills during military induced separations.  We stand ready to serve all military and DoD personnel and families in preparation for, during and after deployments, extended TDY (30 days or more) and remote tour assignments, by providing:

Individual deployment/TDY preparation services/workshops offered:

-- Personal and family readiness training
*** SPOUSES/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND***
-Pre-deployment  briefs can be obtained at Readiness Day by calling the Installation Deployment Readiness Cell at 301-981-2293 to schedule.
-One-on-one consultations available. Call 301-981-7087 to schedule. 
-- United Through Reading
-Call to schedule.  Great for staying connected during deployment, extended TDY, frequent short-term TDYs, shift work.
-- Hearts Apart program for "waiting" families
-E-mail contact info is collected during pre-deployment briefings to provide info to families on events and programs throughout the National Capital Region. 
-Family members who will relocate to another area during the deployment/remote tour will be connected with their local servicing Center or service equivalent when possible via e-mail.
-- Disaster preparedness & crisis intervention
-- Children's materials
-- Coping with Separation*
-- Preparing for Reunion*
*based on availability of American Red Cross facilitators
--Post-deployment Reintegration
-Every Tuesday & Thursday at 0800.  REGISTRATION REQUIRED.  Call NLT noon the day prior to schedule.  Uniform is UoD, bring deployed medical record.  SPOUSES/SIGNIFICANT OTHERS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.
