JBA Airman featured in DoD communications campaign

By Staff 11th Wing Public Affairs

Airman 1st Class Nala Cormier, an 11th Medical Group medical technician here, was recently featured in a video by the Defense Department, as part of its "This is Your Military" initiative.

Cormier shared her story about how she overcame personal tragedy and revived "Andrews Against Drunk Driving," a designated driving service for Airmen in the National Capital Region. The service assists in combating the amount of potential DUIs and car accidents by providing Airmen with a last-resort option for returning home in opposition to driving under the influence.

When the Defense Media Activity's DoD News team found out about it, they decided Cormier's story would be a good fit within the department-wide campaign to form a better connection between civilian Americans and the men and women who serve. The video, released Aug. 10, reached more than 11 thousand viewers in its first three days online.
