JBA exercise advisory

By 11th Wing Public Affairs

JBA is scheduled to conduct an Operational Readiness Exercise Feb. 1. The exercise satisfies an annual Air Force requirement to maintain operational readiness and is not focused on any specific threat.

The base and surrounding areas should expect increased noise and activity to include simulated explosions, messages from loudspeakers, sirens, and noise from alert vehicles. Visual effects such as smoke may also be visible.

Exercise planners will implement various training scenarios intended to prepare Airmen in a high-risk environment. The exercise is a routinely scheduled event to ensure ongoing readiness.

In the event of a real situation, the exercise will be terminated and the base will be notified via internal and external official channels.

For further information, contact the 11th Wing Public Affairs Office at 240-612-4428.
