Welders provide base support one spark at a time

The 11th Civil Engineer Squadron structures shop here provides support to Joint Base Andrews and its agencies through welding, fabrication and other repairs. Some of their projects include welding metal grates used in a hangars which allow water to drain while aircraft safely pass over it. One of the welding processes 11th CES structural apprentices use is Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, this is when a solid wire is fed continuously through the welding gun.
