JBA hosts Asian American Pacific Islander event

Joint Base Andrews hosted an Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month event on May 30, 2019. AAPI, observed in May, recognizes challenges faced by Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders and Native Hawaiians and their vital contributions to the American story.  AAPI Heritage Month aims to honor Americans with cultural backgrounds from all of the Asian continent and Pacific islands of Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia. The event served a variety of AAPI dishes along with performances of Okinawan classical dance, Turkish piano, South Indian Classical Dance and many more.
