Amn Laken Lynn Rohrer, Religious Affairs Airman, 11 WG/HC

What's your hometown city and state (and country, if not U.S.)?

Springfield, Ohio

Why did you decide to serve in the military?

The reason I chose to serve in the military is because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my future and I wanted to be apart of something bigger than myself. I needed to find a way to give back and serve others.

How do you think your job impacts the wing's mission?

My job impacts the mission by focusing on giving support and care to America’s Airmen and ensuring the religious freedom of DoD and their family members.

What's been your favorite assignment/TDY and why?

JBA is my first assignment and I've loved it from the beginning. I grew up in a small town where I knew just about everyone, whereas here, it’s a big city with a lot to do. So being able to explore the area has been pretty awesome.

What is your dream assignment and why?

I wouldn’t say I have a specific dream assignment but I think I would love to travel overseas to experience different cultures.

What's the coolest thing you've done in the military?

Since I’ve been here at JBA, one of the coolest things I’ve done is having the opportunity to speak at the Air Force’s 72nd Birthday Worship Service, where I met and got coined by the CSAF!

What hobbies do you have/what do you do in your spare time?

I like to spend my spare time hanging out with friends, doing outdoor activities, and watching sports.

Biggest challenge you've faced in your life?

The biggest challenge I believe I have ever faced is preparing myself to compete at the World Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida.
