Washington Football Team takes field at JBA

By Senior Airman Amir Young 316th Wing Public Affairs

The Washington Football Team held a preseason practice at the Tactical Fitness Center field here today.

The team has come to JBA in previous years as a part of an annual tradition meant to support JBA and show their appreciation to the armed forces community.

“We're always thinking about ways to link arms with people who are doing great things for our community,” said Jason Wright, president of the Washington Football Team. “The men and women here at Andrews have made a demonstrable impact in our society through the sacrifice that these people go through on a daily basis, especially now.”

The base population lined up as early as 9 a.m. to claim their opportunity to see the team practice and complete their drills.

“It's the least we can do to show up and bring some levity, some joy, some moments of reprieve from something that is always a hard grind, especially for military families,” said Wright.
