JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
Effective immediately, all Joint Base Andrews residents and workers are advised to stop all non-essential water use. An off-base water main break has affected the water pressure to customers in Prince George's County, including JBA.
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is working to repair the line, but advises that peak pressure loss will occur around 8 p.m. Customers are advised to limit use, but should gather enough water for drinking/cooking purposes.
Until repairs are made, all customers should:
· Use water only as necessary - i.e., shorter showers and turn off faucets after washing hands and while brushing teeth
· Put off washing clothes if possible
· Limit the use of dishwashers and wash only full loads
