Sitzes named 'Warrior of the Week'

11th Wing Public Affairs

Tech. Sgt. Jason Sitzes, 1st Helicopter Squadron flight engineer, is the Team Andrews Warrior of the Week.

Sitzes earned the Air Force's Henry "Red" Erwin Award for Outstanding Career Enlisted Aviator of the Year for accomplishments as an air advisor during a 365 day deployment to Kandahar, Afghanistan.

He trained Afghans nationals to operate the rear of the MI-17 helicopter safely; aiding them in taking over the mission there.

Sitzes, born in Missouri and raised in Levelland, Texas, joined the Air Force in 1999.  Since he enlisted, Sitzes has completed five overseas deployments.

In his free time, Sitzes said he enjoys spending time with his family, doing home improvements, auto racing and watching college football.
