JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
The Andrews Home Educators is a support group operating on Joint Base Andrews for Active Duty, Retired, Reserve and DoD families who have chosen to educate their children at home.
The Kickoff and Signup event is scheduled to take place August 17, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Andrews Community Activity Center (attached to the Sports Page).
AHE is open to the following: active duty, retiree, reserve, and DoD families that have base access (valid ID card). Dues are $30.00 per year.
Activities and monthly meetings include but are not limited to:
--P. E. and Ballet classes
--Sign Language
--Book Club
--Cooking
--Science and Geography Fair
--Mom's Night Out
--Age-Specific Field Trips and social events
--Craft Events
--Ice Skating
--Game Nights
--Talent Show
AHE 2011 school year Kick-Off will share information about classes, events, field trips and activities, This is the time to join (or re-join) AHE, pay your dues, sign up for classes, and gather valuable information.
This meeting provides an opportunity to meet other homeschoolers, ask questions, gather information and get to know your Board of Directors.
Information on various curriculum and supplier choices...such as... Rainbow Resource, Pitsco, Abeka, Sonlight, Oak Meadow, Calvert, My Fathers World, NOEO, Real Science 4 Kids, Math USee, Saxon, Story of the World, Bob Jones, Alpha Omega, Handwriting without Tears, and many more!!!
Also veteran homeschoolers, MWR and class instructors will be available for sign ups and to answer your questions!
