PLAYpass offers fun for deployed single JBA Airmen, families

By Airman 1st Class Lindsey A. Beadle 11th Wing Public Affiars

In continuing efforts to build a resilient force, single Joint Base Andrews Airmen returning from deployment, and families of deployed members, are slated to receive special discounts at select Force Support Squadron activities to help Airmen and their families ease the pressures and stress associated with deployments, officials said.

Air Force Services Agency officials will offer PLAYpass cards May 28 through Dec. 31. Details for this program and its role at Joint Base Andrews are forthcoming.

The cards, valued at more than $500, feature discounts on activities such as child care, youth sports, recreation programs and classes.

"We're excited to expand this program to single Airmen to provide deployment respite and help with re-integration," said Linda Weston, an Air Force Services Agency marketing specialist. "The program is based on discount cards that provide single Airmen and eligible family members the opportunity to participate in programs at either reduced costs or free of charge."
