Current Duty Title: Premier Band Craftsman

Hometown: Rapid City, SD

Why are they being recognized?

"I received a call from a general officer who shared a compelling story about an 11th Wing senior non-commissioned officer whose commendable actions may have saved a life. The person involved was Master Sgt. Ryan Carson, from Max Impact. This person's quick thinking, first aid skills, and leadership may have saved the life of a guest at Saturday's Air Force Aid Society Charity Ball," said Col. Kenneth Rizer, 11th Wing/ Joint Base Andrews commander.

The guest was having difficulty breathing, fell to the floor and was turning blue. Master Sgt. Carson rendered immediate aid to the guest and directed the actions of others to get medical professionals on scene.

Sergeant Carson displayed the ability to think quickly on his feet and quick application of his military Self Aid Buddy Care training.
