Inauguration and Closings

316 Wing Public Affairs

Here at Andrews AFB, base traffic will be restricted to official personnel only Jan. 20. All Services functions will be closed as well as the Base Exchange and the Commissary. The Malcolm Grow Medical Center emergency room will be open, but no other regular appointments will be scheduled that day. A detailed schedule will be in next week's "Capital Flyer."

Military personnel coming to work that day should review their travel plans to ensure they can reach the base. Personnel traveling from Virginia may have to alter their normal route due to road and bridge closures.

Information on everything to do with the upcoming inauguration in Washington can be found at: http://www.inauguration.dc.gov/. Updates on road closures in the National Capital Region are posted on the inauguration site.

The inauguration site also contains schedules of events, historical data and photos. Links to METRO and other useful websites are also posted there.
