Tech Expo will show latest technology

By Pacifica Chehy staff writer

The 844th Communications Group is sponsoring Tuesday's Technology Expo at The Club at Andrews, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where exhibitors will display and demonstrate the newest technologies in the field.

"Attendees can learn about the latest technological tools available for all the activities at Andrews that enhance research and support the war fighter," said Lisa Yin, Technology Expo Federal Event manager. "Typically 25 exhibitors are at the event - depending on the request from the base's senior leadership. We work with the senior leadership and key IT personnel to make sure we are bringing the most mission relevant technologies to the event."

Along with having the latest information available to attendees, the event is also convenient.

"The Technology Expo is important because it provides Andrews AFB personnel and other tenant organizations on base with time effective opportunities to view, evaluate, and be educated on the latest technologies, products, services and issues relevant to their mission," said Ms. Yin.

"Successful shows also bring in both exhibitors who previously attended as well as exhibitors who heard about the event from other sources," she said. "Even contractors who already work with organizations on base exhibit from time to time to provide technical on-site support and customer services to their clients."

The event is free to all military, tenant and contractor personnel on base. Light refreshments will be served and there will be demonstrations and giveaways.
