Andrews commissary seeks customer input

By Pacifica Chehy staff writer

The Andrews Commissary held a customer advisory meeting recently to better gauge their needs and hear from customers how to make the base commissary a better place to shop. "Customers give us the best ideas," said Robin Daniel, Andrews Commissary Store Director. "Who better to tell us the areas where we need to improve than our customers?"

"Customers can provide us with the information on items they want stocked or how we can improve customer service," said Mrs. Daniel. "They can put their suggestions in the boxes we have at the front of the store. We check those boxes everyday."

Some of the suggestions Mrs. Daniel has received include providing customers with rotisserie chicken. "We can't have a rotisserie," explained Mrs. Daniel, "According to the base Fire Department and Maryland law, it needs to be vented to the outside and it would take a large amount of money to do that."

Another growing customer demand has been organics. "Organics is a booming seller and going to expand in all lines down to potato chips, bread, and baby food" she said.
The next customer advisory meeting will be held August 29 at 10 a.m. in the Commissary conference room. For more information regarding the meeting or to make suggestions, contact Robin Daniel at 240-840-6512, ext. 3002.
