ANDREWS AFB, Md. –
DynCorp, a contractor which falls under the 89th Maintenance Group, earned the Federal Aviation Administration employer's Diamond Level Certificate of Excellence for the fifth consecutive year March 6.
"The award recognizes DynCorp's proactive commitment to providing outstanding maintenance for aircraft used by our nation's leaders here," said 1st Lt. Harry P. Marlin, 89 MXG executive officer. "The award is based wholly on the commitment by the maintenance technicians to further their knowledge by attending maintenance training courses."
There are five award levels identified, from lowest to highest, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Ruby and Diamond.
"DynCorp received the Diamond Award due to 98 aviation maintenance technicians advancing their skills through the company's sponsored training program," said Lieutenant Marlin. "The majority of the technicians earned the FAA AMT Bronze Award, which is Phase I of the AMT requirements."
This award represents DynCorp's willingness to maintain the aircraft entrusted to its care and recognizes the personal commitment afforded by the men and women who meet and exceed the highest level of aviation standards in accomplishing the demanding mission of the United States' most visible Special Air Mission fleet, he said.
"The aviation community and FAA believe the AMT award symbolizes the best of what the aviation maintenance industry has to offer," said the lieutenant. "For more than 10 years the FAA has recognized individuals and employers for their hard work in achieving these awards."
