JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Daniel A. DeVoe, Air Force District of Washington commander, Chief Master Sgt. Charmaine N. Kelley, AFDW command chief, and other AFDW staff members, visited units from the 316th Wing as part of an immersion tour Oct. 17-18.
The tour began with opening remarks from Col. Todd E. Randolph, 316th Wing and installation commander, followed by mission briefings from the wing's group commanders and senior enlisted leaders, and the wing's mission video.
The tour continued with visits to units in the wing such as the 316th Operations Support Squadron, 1st Helicopter Squadron, Explosive Ordnance Disposal section, 316th Logistics Readiness Squadron and 316th Security Support Squadron.
While the tour featured virtual reality flight simulators, introductions to other high-tech equipment, and firing rounds of ammunition at the base range, the Airmen remained the command team's focus. At each stop, DeVoe and Kelly spoke with Airmen, asked questions about their mission and recognized their hard work.
Due to limited time during the tour, DeVoe expressed his intent to return to more organizations at a later date.
