Hugo's last call

By Senior Airman Bridgitte Taylor | 316th Wing Public Affairs

Members from the 316th Security Support Squadron came together to honor retired military working dog Hugo at the Veterinary Treatment Facility, Aug. 23. Hugo was relieved from duty in 2021 after serving six years at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

With the rapid decline of Hugo's health, 316th SSPTS K-9 handlers conducted honors for Hugo, rendering him his last salute. Whether retired or active duty, MWDs receive honors after passing, reflecting the deep respect their handlers have for them.
