Click the Purple Globe

By Staff Reports 11th Wing Public Affairs

Command Post advises all military and civilian personnel to update their contact information in the Installation Warning Systems commonly referred to as AtHoc.

With the push of a button, notifications can be sent to the entire base population through texts, calls, computer desktop alerts, potentially providing critical and timely lifesaving information.

The IWS is used to send out mass notifications to alert personnel of emergency situations such as a base lockdown due to an active shooter situation or provide situational awareness such as base operating status.

To update your information simply expand the system tray in the lower right corner of your government computer and right click the "Purple Globe" icon. From the available listing, select "Update My Info" which will take you to the "My Profile" tab. In the "Basic Info" section, you are required to update your unit information by clicking the link in the "Air Force" section.

Work phone and email is mandatory fields for all registered personnel in the "Numbers and Online addresses" sections. An after duty hours phone number is mandatory for all active duty military and mission essential civilians.

Once your information is up to date, click "Save" in the top right, on the page, and close the window. Please note that if your information is entered incorrectly, you may not be notified of an emergency situation affecting the base or National Capital Region.

For additional questions regarding the notification system, please send an email to usaf.jbanafw.afdw-staff.mbx.afdw-iws@mail.mil.
