Redskins Walkthrough JBA

By Airman 1st Class Philip Bryant 11th Wing Public Affairs

The Washington Redskins conducted a walkthrough practice at the West Fitness Center's field, Joint Base Andrews, Md., Aug. 28, 2015.

It was the third time the Redskins came to Joint Base Andrews in an effort to show their appreciation to the military community.

"This event is a way for us to give back," said Bruce Allen, Redskins team president. "Our players appreciate the work of the men and women of our armed services and get motivated hearing from service members."

The walkthrough practice had Redskins players and coaches go through plays and drills while hundreds of base community members watched from the sidelines.

"Today was a humbling experience to have the Redskins come out here and give back to Joint Base Andrews," said Col. Bradley Hoagland, 11th Wing/JBA commander. "It was a tremendous opportunity for them to come here and for us, as the military, to give back to the Redskins and the local community to continue those relationships."

Community members waited until after practice to get autographs, take selfies and spend time with their local NFL team.

With the season looming and uncertainty in the Redskins line-up, the team's president was certain of one thing when asked about the team's future.

"I don't have a crystal ball, but I know we're going to fight every play," Allen said.
