11th CES to perform maintenance on main gate outbound lanes

By Senior Airman Mariah Haddenham 11th Wing Public Affairs

The outbound lanes at the Main gate on Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, are scheduled to be closed June 15 - July 1, 2015, due to construction.

Inbound lanes and the Visitor Control Center will be open normally.

To ease traffic congestion during this time period, the West Gate, adjacent to building 1500, will be open 24/7 for outbound traffic only.

Additionally, the outbound lanes at Westover Gate, also known as Old Main Gate, located at the intersection of North Perimeter Road and Westover Drive will be open daily from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for individuals departing the installation.

According to the 11th Security Forces Squadron, turn-around procedures will be modified and may cause delays.

All other gates will not be affected and will continue to perform under normal operations.  It is recommended for patrons to give themselves extra time to and from the installation and avoid using the Main gate when possible.
