Warrior of the Week 'directly impacts' JBA's well being

By Senior Airman Nesha Humes 11th Wing Public Affairs

Members of the 11th Wing Inspection Team are being recognized as Jan. 26, 2015, Warrior of the Week for devoting 360 hours to 12 inspections since July 2014.

"They are four of our top inspectors and deserve this recognition," Maj. Daniel Ramirez, 11th Wing Deputy Inspector General said.  "Their time, expertise and attention to detail, as subject matter experts, have had a direct impact on the 11th Wing in addition to the 459th Air Refueling Wing, aiding in many of its no-fail missions."

The team consisted of Master Sgt. Will Edelman, 11th Civil Engineering Squadron safety and vehicle control officer, Master Sgt. Eric Walls, 11th CES engineering flight superintendent, Tech. Sgt. Amanda Mocanu, 11th Force Support Squadron Readiness NCO and Senior Airman Sarah King from the 744th Communications Squadron command support staff.

"The WIT is responsible for highlighting each squadron's best practices, deficiencies and overall health of the assessed squadron," Edelman said. "Our goal is to improve the mission, culture and esprit de corps of the organization."

Additionally, the team has supported approximately 22 inspections, for a total of 660 hours since September 2013.

The hand-selected team developed a risk based assessment strategy to measure culture and compliance within each squadron.

Squadron commanders nominate two airmen to attend a Basic Inspection Course to serve as subject matter experts and assist the Inspector General's team.
