AFDW hosting AF Birthday Ball celebration

By 2nd Lt. Esther Willett Air Force District of Washington Public Affairs

Air Force District of Washington leadership will host the 67th Annual Air Force Birthday Ball Sept. 19 at the Bolling Club on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C . The evening will kick off with a social hour at 6 p.m., and dinner will begin at 7 p.m.

"Attending the Air Force Birthday Ball gives Airmen an opportunity to be a part of an Air Force tradition -- to listen and learn from our most senior leaders, and to remember that they are part of a force that is so much bigger than any single job, shop, or duty," said Capt. Melissa Holt, AFDW Air Force Ball advertising committee chair .

Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James A. Cody will serve as the event keynote speaker.

"This is a chance to learn about, and experience, our Air Force past; to appreciate those who have shaped our present; and learn from the leaders who are taking us into the future," said Capt. Daniel Gross, AFDW Air Force Ball chair.

Each unit has an Air Force Ball representative selling event tickets. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, and sales will close once the event sells out.

"Interest is very high, so folks should not wait to buy their tickets," Holt said.
