Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Patricio Mendoza, Naval Air Facility Washington Reserve Health Hospital corpsman clerk, was recognized as Warrior of the Week here, May 14. Mendoza provides medical and dental services for 75 full-time support staff personnel and 3,200 selected reservists.

Additionally, Mendoza serves as the Command Deployment Health Coordinator. He manages and processes medical requirements for Navy Reserve members selected for mobilization and long-term orders.

The Lubbock, Texas, native joined the Navy in 2012 for two reasons; to be financially stable and achieve personal goals such as earning his bachelor's degree and traveling abroad.

Mendoza's interests are cultural art, military history and forensic medicine. His hobbies include sky diving and rock climbing.

Since October 2013, Mendoza's attention to detail, exceptional foresight, aggressive patient education and direct management efforts have resulted in more than 320 reservists being physically ready to deploy with active forces globally.

His daily efforts portray the Navy Reserve Force motto of "Ready Now. Anytime, Anywhere."

Furthermore, Mendoza proudly serves as a NAF Washington Color Guard member and has performed in over 80 functions honoring the service of his fellow military members.
