744th Communication Squadron Airman Identified

An Airman assigned to the 744th Communications Squadron was pronounced dead of an apparent suicide at the on-base Emergent Care Center at approximately 11:45 p.m., April 10.

Airman Shane Pettit was a cable and antenna systems apprentice for the 744th Communications Squadron.

"We continue to provide support to the family, friends and coworkers of Airman Pettit, as they go through this difficult time," said Col. Bill Knight, 11th Wing/Joint Base Andrews commander.

The Military and Family Support Center is available to those in need of support during this time, and can be reached at 301-981-7087. Additionally, the 11th Wing Chaplain's office can be reached at 301-981-2111.
