Kareem Abdul-Jabbar helps motivate JBA youth to read

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar reads to a group of children during a Reading is Fundamental event at the Youth Center on Joint Base Andrews, Md., Oct. 1, 2013. Jabbar attended the event hosted by Joint Base Andrews and the RIF organization to help encourage and motivate children to become life-long readers. Jabbar, author and the current leading scorer in the National Basketball Association's history, read to the children. Afterwords, each child went home with books by Jabbar along with other books and prizes.
