JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
Airman 1st Class Nicholas Giusti, United States Air Force Honor Guard ceremonial guardsman, is this week's Warrior of the Week.
The Frederick, Md. native has been a ceremonial guardsman for more than one year. As a body bearer, his primary responsibility is carrying the nation's heroes to their final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery.
Giusti says his ability to excel and effectively accomplish the Air Force mission contributed to his selection in Army Warrant Officer Program. He was diligent about putting together his package to submit to the Warrant Officer Selection Board.
"I've been working towards becoming an Army WO pilot ever since I heard about the opportunity over 6 months ago," Giusti said. "I found out I was selected in September and will be stationed at Ft. Rucker, AL in early 2014," he said.
The transitioning Airmen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from McDaniel College in Westminster, Md., and his educational and professional goals are just beginning to take flight.
"My current goal is finish atop my flight school class and become an Apache Pilot for the Army," he said.
The soon to be Army warrant officer says he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and six-year old daughter and playing in charity hockey games and events in the local area.
Congratulations to this week's Warrior.
