'Nero the Hero' keeps Joint Base Andrews clean of controlled substances
Staff Sgt. Edward Slaughter, 11th Wing Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, holds Nero, 11 SFS narcotic detector dog, as he challenges Technical Sgt. Ryan Feltz, 11 SFS MWD trainer, during a routine training exercise Feb. 9. Nero holds the record for the most dangerous controlled substance “busts” on Andrews, uncovering nearly one pound of controlled substances within a two month span. Military working dogs are an essential part of the 11 SFS mission to keep Joint Base Andrews safe. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Bahja J. Jones)
