A multi-purpose snow removal unit blows snow from in front of a 459th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 on the Joint Base Andrews, Md., flightline Feb. 9, 2010. The flightline was open through Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. when white-out conditions prevented air traffic. Through the hard work of the snow removal teams, the flightline was reopened at 9 a.m. Feb. 10. The D.C. area was struck with two blizzards within a week, which dropped a total of 30 inches of snow and sleet, shutting down schools, the federal government and normal operations at Andrews. Emergency crews here worked 24/7 to feed servicemembers and maintain power, heat, and security at Joint Base Andrews. (U.S. Air Force photo by Bobby Jones)
