A contract welder uses a welding torch on the third floor of the east wing of the five-story Base Realignment and Closure wing facility Jan. 15, 2010. Plans are in the works for a green roof water filtration system, which will be covered with grass to capture and drain water off the roof top. Additionally, the facility will contain a total of six elevators that will be accessible in the east and west wings. Furthermore, the building’s new parking lot will accommodate 1,243 vehicles. The new headquarters, which is scheduled for completion March 2011, will cover approximately 480,000 square feet of real estate on Joint Base Andrews. (U.S. Air Force photo by Bobby Jones)
