Firefighters train to rescue lives
Senior Airman Matthew Silliman, left, and Senior Airman Timothy Mulvaney, right, both 316th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighters, observe as trench rescue braces are put into place to support the walls from collapsing inside a 10-foot trench during a trench rescue exercise on the East Side of base Friday. The course was just one of various life saving training courses at Andrews provided by the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute. Other courses that are scheduled during 45 days of rescue training include confined-space rescue, high and low angle rescue, vehicle machinery rescue and swift water rescue.
