CAPSHIELD commences in capital region
A moulage team prepares volunteers for a mock explosion scenario during the Capital Shield Exercise Oct.28. Having moulage victims helps to create a more realistic scenario for first responders and medical personnel in preparation for a real world catastrophic situation. The exercise consisted of multiple scenarios including suspicious packages, mass casualty training, and terrorist attack procedures. Capital Shield is an annual exercise in the National Capital Region involving civilian and military authorities such as 316th Wing, 779th Medical Group, 89th Airlift Wing, Prince George’s County Fire and Police Departments and Maryland State Police.
