Mission controllers keep 1st HS flying

Tech Sgt. Jake Wireman, 1st Helicopter Squadron NCO in charge of console operations, and Tech. Sgt. Angeline Mahoney, 1st HS support flight chief and mission controller, relay information to the UH-1N Iroquois aircrews at Joint Base Andrews, Md., Dec. 7, 2016. Wireman and Mahoney are part of a team of nine Airmen that comprises the 1st HS mission control, following flights and relaying critical information to aircrews to complete their mission. The team was awarded the 2015 Small Unit Command Post of the Year based on excellence in mission accomplishment, performance and recognition of command post controllers, and training recognition.
