When you arrive at your new unit, you'll need to follow your unit-specific procedures. Each unit and military service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find general guidelines about signing in with your unit. Reach out to your unit sponsor if you have specific questions.
All newly arrived DoD members must report to their respective unit Command Support Staff (CSS). Your CSS will provide you with an in-processing checklist and other information to get situated. If your unit does not have a CSS, report to the Military Personnel Section, Customer Support at 1414 Arkansas Road.
If you arrive during duty hours, report to your unit as instructed. If you arrive after duty hours and your sponsor has not already made previous arrangements for dormitory or lodging accommodations, report to the Presidential Inn Lodging. You should report to your unit in uniform the following duty day morning.
Newcomer's Orientation, or Welcome to Andrews, is a monthly briefing hosted by the Military & Family Readiness Center for all members--military, civilians and family members. Complete many of your mandatory briefings, while getting more information and resources about your new assignment.

In order to register your firearms on base you must bring them, secured, and cleared, to the Security Forces building located at 1845 Westover Rd. and enter through the door marked as “Desk Sergeant."
Please tell the desk that you are there to register firearms. The desk will contact the armory and an on-duty Armorer or Security Forces member will escort you to the armory. You will then fill out the AF Form 1314, Firearms Registration, and DD Form 2760, Qualification to Possess Firearms or Ammunition.
*This must be done within 72 hours of receiving the firearm(s) or arriving on station. You are only required to register firearms with the Armory when living on base. Dormitory residents will report to the Armory immediately for registration and must store their weapons inside of the armory.*
