Can I bring food? 

Outside food will be permitted on DoD cardholder day, Friday September 12, 2025, ONLY. 

Are pets allowed? 

Pets are not allowed. Documented service animals are permitted. 

What can I bring? 

This is not an all-inclusive list; all items are subject to search. 

  • Service Animals 

  • Empty water bottles 

  • Portable Lawn Chairs 

  • Collapsible strollers and wagons 

  • Handheld umbrellas 

  • Camera (still, video, digital)

  • Collapsible tripod and monopods 

What CAN’T I bring? 

Joint Base Andrews is a nonpublic forum, and as such has the ability to regulate political activity within the perimeter of the installation. Access to the air show may be denied to any individuals who seek to engage in demonstrations that would result in interference with or prevention of orderly accomplishment of the mission of the installation. 

All bags are subject to search. For non-DOD ID guests, any bag larger than a 5” by 7” by ¾” clutch must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC. 

  • Flags, Banners, or Signs 

  • Weapons of any kind including pocketknives, pocket tools, scissors, box cutters, billy clubs, large heavy chain link jewelry or belts, mace and pepper spray 

  • Firearms, ammunition or explosives of any type. 

  • Toys that resemble firearms, laser pointers 

  • Federally Prohibited Drugs 

  • Alcoholic Beverages 

  • Recreational motorized mobility devices, Bikes, skateboards, Rollerblades 

  • Walkie-Talkies, HAM radios, Scanners 

  • RC aircraft & drones 

  • Flammable items and Fireworks 

  • Pets (except for service animals) 

  • All aerosols to exclude sunscreen.

General Information

What time is the air show? 

  • Gates open at 9:00 a.m. 

  • Opening Ceremony at 10:20 a.m.  

  • Last bus departure from off-site parking to Joint Base Andrews at 1:00 p.m., or until capacity is reached. 

  • Event ends at 4:00 p.m. 

  • Last bus departure from Joint Base Andrews to off-site parking at 5:00 p.m. 

Do I need to bring ID? 

Saturday and Sunday, September 13 & 14, are general admission and do not require ID. Friday is DoD Cardholder Day and requires a DoD ID. 

  • Proper identification for DOD ID card holders includes but is not limited to: 
    - DoD Common Access Cards 
    - Military Retiree ID cards 
    - Military Dependent ID cards 
    - State/Federal Law Enforcement (ON OFFICIAL BUSINESS) 
    - Sponsored Guest (i.e. DBIDS card holders) 

  • Guests of DoD cardholders (18 years old and older) must possess a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or other acceptable identification while on the installation, such as: 
    - U.S. Passport or Passport Card 
    - DD Form 1173 (Uniform Services Identification and Privilege Card) 
    - DD Form 2 series 
    - Birth certificate with raised seal and social security card  

Do I have to pay for a ticket to enter? 

No. This event is free and open to the public. General Admission is free, and a ticket is not required for entry. Please see premium ticketing options if you are interested in an enhanced experience. 

Can I leave and re-enter the event? 

Yes, however you will have to process through the security checkpoint again. Last bus departure from off-site parking to Joint Base Andrews at 1:00 p.m. 

Should I bring cash? 

No, the air show is a cashless event. All authorized vendors will accept debit/credit cards for purchases.

Parking and Transportation

Where will I park? 

Free general admission parking will be available at Northwest Stadium with free shuttle services to Joint Base Andrews. Parking at Joint Base Andrews is only open to DoD cardholders, general admission parking is only available at Northwest Stadium.

🚌 Transportation 
Buses will run from Northwest Stadium to Joint Base Andrews from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The last return bus from Joint Base Andrews to Northwest Stadium will depart at 5 p.m. 

♿ Accessibility 
Accessible parking for attendees with valid handicap placards will be available at Northwest Stadium. Accessible buses will be available to and from the event. 

Will there be parking available for DoD members? 

Yes, DoD cardholder parking will be available at Joint Base Andrews (east side ramp) with free shuttle services to spectator areas (west side ramp). Parking at Joint Base Andrews is only open to DoD cardholders, general admission parking is only available at Northwest Stadium.

🚌 Transportation 
On-base buses will transport guests from the east side parking lots to the west side spectator area throughout the day. 

♿ Accessibility 
Accessible parking for attendees with valid handicap placards and base access will be available at Joint Base Andrews. Accessible buses will be available. 

Can I take a ride-share to the event (Uber, Lyft, etc.)? 

Yes, be sure to set your drop-off location to Northwest Stadium. All attendees must board the free shuttle at Northwest Stadium to travel to Joint Base Andrews. Rideshare drop off at Joint Base Andrews for access to the air show is NOT ALLOWED. 

Can I take public transportation? 

Yes, the Morgan Boulevard Metro Station (Silver/Blue Line) is located about one mile from Northwest Stadium and offers pedestrian access to the stadium. All attendees must board the free shuttle at Northwest Stadium to travel to Joint Base Andrews.

Accessibility

Is there ADA Parking?
Answer: Patrons with ADA licenses or hang tags will be directed to ADA parking at an off-base parking site. ADA-compliant bus transportation will be provided tot he air show.

What ADA accessible accommodations are available?
Answer: We have ADA parking, ADA-accessible port-o-potties, and seating centrally located on the flight line.

I have mobility needs and use an electric mobility scooter. Can I bring my scooter?
Answer: Yes, but will be subject to search at the screening area. Accessible buses will be available to and from the event.

I have a medical need and need to bring medication that needs to stay cold. Can I put it in a cooler?
Answer: If you have a medical need and must have your medication kept cold, you can bring it in a SOFT-SIDED cooler ONLY. You CANNOT bring it in a hard cooler. The medication MUST be accompanied by a doctor's note stating you have a medical need.

Will mobility services be provided for those with mobility needs?
Answer: Yes, mobility golf carts are available for attendees with mobility needs.
