  • Main Gate: OPEN 24/7

  • Pearl Harbor Gate POV Lanes: CLOSED 
  • Pearl Harbor Gate Commercial Lanes: OPEN Monday – Sunday 5:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • North Gate Outbound: CLOSED 
  • Visitor Control Center: OPEN Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. At this time, the Visitor Control Center is not accepting Special Function List requests due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Joint Base Andrews Visitor Control Center will not  receive delivery of packages or mail from Amazon, USPS, UPS, FedEx, or any other carrier. Any and all packages or mail sent to the Visitor Control Center will be rejected, and returned to the carrier. Please use your on-base address for all personal deliveries. (As a precautionary measure, personnel entering JBA will no longer hand their ID cards to the police officers at JBA gates. Instead, they will keep their windows up and show their IDs through the window.  First showing the front so officers can verify their identity/picture, then they will flip the card and hold it so officers can scan the back of the ID card. All passengers will need to position themselves where they can hold their ID up to the window as well. This is a measure to ensure the health and safety of our community members and officers.)

  • The Freedom Hall Dining Facility will resume indoor seating (max capacity: 52 personnel) on 27 July. 
  • The DFAC is open to ENLISTED military members (officers when authorization is included on TDY orders) and emergency responders ONLY. Contractors are authorized for dinner and midnight meals only. Please follow protocol below to protect yourself and others:
  • Masks are required (fully cover nose and mouth)
  • Maintain 6 feet of social distancing
  • Use hand sanitizer upon entry to serving area
  • No more than 10 people in the serving area
  • Stay home if you are sick or had close contact with a person who has COVID-19.

  • Breakfast: 5:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.; Carryout only 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; Carryout only 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Carryout only 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Weekends & Holidays

  • Main Store: OPEN 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • All AAFES Base Exchange patrons will be required to wear at least cloth face masks starting Thursday, April 16. This includes the main BX and both shoppettes. 
    • The Barber Shop is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for active-duty personnel by appointment only. Please call (301) 420-9874 to schedule an appointment, or leave your name and contact information on the log at the front of the store to be contacted for an appointment.
    • The Exchange Beauty Shop is open by appointment only. Patrons should call (301) 735-1988 to make an appointment. Hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed on Sundays.
  • Food Court: OPEN, 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., no food court seating
    • Boston Market is CLOSED until August 2020
  • West Shoppette: OPEN, 6 a.m. - 10 p.m., Sunday - Thursday and 8 a.m. - 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday (Shoppette hours have been returned to regular hours, extension hours were due to troop movement.)
  • East Shoppette: OPEN, no food court seating
  • Burger King: Drive-Thru and Lobby OPEN; take out only, no dine-in
  • Dry Cleaners: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: OPEN 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The Courses at Andrews: Open as of June 18, 2020. Face masks are required inside facility. Tee Time reservations are mandatory and made in advance. Note: On the day of the tee time, golfers can self-check-in on their smartphone by visiting  https://checkin.gallusgolf.com/CheckIn/1189 , by coming in the Pro Shop, or utilizing one of the kiosks that can be setup outside.

Commissary: OPEN

  • Monday - Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 9  p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.(no early-bird hours at this time)
  • Patrons must show their DoD ID card and wear a cloth facemask for entry. Only 100 patrons will be admitted at a time during hours of operation.
  • The following commodities are limited to two items per patron (paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, poultry, ground beef, baby formula, diapers, etc.). 
  • The store will close NLT 6 p.m. daily to allow for sanitation and restocking.
  • Operating in accordance with social distancing and CDC guidelines.


Public Affairs: OPEN for limited walk-ins

  • Studio appointments, during COVID-19, are WALK-INS for official Visa/Passports and ISO Prep and Special Duty Assignment packages only.

    • Please bring your own colored collared shirts. NO WHITE COLLARED SHIRTS!

    • If you are getting both Visa and Passport photos you will new two different colored shirts.

    • Walk-ins: Wednesday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Due to the uncertainty regarding COVID-19, the Department of the Air Force is suspending public outreach activities and support to community events both CONUS and OCONUS (as covered in AFI 35-105). This suspension includes, but is not limited to, on-base and civilian-sponsored airshows, band performances and community engagements and meetings which involve large gatherings (speaking engagements, community meetings on installations, base tours, Pentagon visits, etc.).

Legal Assistance: OPEN by appointment only

  • All walk-in legal assistance and will appointments are suspended until further notice. Exceptions will be on a case-by-case basis for time-sensitive legal assistance needs.
  • Please call the legal office at (240) 612-5750 with any questions or to request case-by-case assistance. Because we have limited personnel answering phones, callers may receive an error message. If this occurs, please hang up and try calling again 30 minutes later.
  • For emergency legal assistance, please contact the Command Post at (301) 981-5058 for the on-call JAG.

Military Family Support Center: OPEN by appointment only

  • Military Family Life Counselors will be available for telephone counseling between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling their cell phones directly at 301-232-8465 or 301-232-8481.
  • Casualty services will be available 24/7 by calling Command Post (301) 981-5058/5059.
  • Emergency Financial assistance will be available by calling the main office at (301) 981-7087 or the American Red Cross after hours at 1-877-272-7337.
  • CLOSED for walk-in traffic and most workshops have been canceled with the exception of deployment-related training (Readiness Day/Reintegration) and pre-separation Counseling (Virtual).
  • Government lodging is for official travel only and no Space-Available will be provided. Guests will be required upon arrival to process through a single point of entry and asked public health questions upon check-in.
    • Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Starting Monday, April 13, children enrolled at CDC 3 will transfer to CDC 1 and Youth Center children will be consolidated into CDC 2.

  • The Tactical Fitness Center is open as of Monday, 27 July for military members; you must make an appointment for a 45-minute session. The maximum capacity for each session is 65 personnel.
  • Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To schedule your workout, please visit
  • You will be prompted to create an account when "Sign Up Now" is clicked. Please provide your email address (work or personal) followed by your name and telephone number. Then, create a password for your Mindbody Login. Make sure to subscribe to your emails for important updates and schedule changes. We will ask for your Unit upon your first visit to the facility. Please check in at the front desk and maintain social distance while waiting to sign in. There are floor markers to assist in social distancing. If you are feeling under the weather, experiencing a fever or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please stay home.
  • Maintain social distance at all times. One sign up per individual per day. Wipe down equipment before and after use. Towels will NOT be provided at this time. You MUST bring your own towel. Masks must be worn at all times except when actively working out on a machine using weights. If you are weight lifting spotter, you must wear a mask. Showers and saunas are currently closed. Bring water; our water fountains are closed. Respect the 45-minute workout window.
  • If the session is full, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified via email/text if you have been added to the desired session. If you do not make a reservation and we have reached capacity, unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate. The TRX boxes are currently open 24/7 without sign-up restrictions.
  • Please follow installation and Centers for Disease Control guidelines to protect yourself and others: wear a mask as required (fully cover nose and mouth), maintain 6-ft. social distancing, use hand sanitizer when entering a building, and stay home if you are sick or have been in close contact with an individual who has COVID-19.

Current HPCON is Bravo

Commanders and public health personnel use HPCON levels to guide specific actions you can take in response to a health threat. 

As of June 29, 2020, Joint Base Andrews commander has changed the health protection condition (HPCON) on base to Bravo. Joint Base Andrews has implemented precautions throughout the base to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19, including changes to procedures at its gates and medical facilities.


Joint Base Andrews leadership is working closely with Prince George's County Public Health, the Maryland Department of Health, the Department of Defense, the Defense Health Agency and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to coordinate prevention and response efforts in the local area.
