A copy of the Springboard, one of the first on-base military newspaper publications distributed here, highlights the accomplishments of service members and families stationed on Camp Springs Army Air Base during World War II. Formerly known as Camp Springs Air Base, Joint Base Andrews has continually run a military newspaper publication since 1944. The Capital Flyer, the base's most-current publication, will cease distribution July 6, and be replaced by The Andrews Gazette, a combined military and civilian newspaper.
