Follow up Release #2: F-16 Accident

A D.C. Air National Guard F-16C fighter jet, assigned to the 113th Wing, at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, crashed about 9:15 A.M. today approximately six miles Southwest from JBA in a wooded area.

The aircraft was flying along with other D.C. Air National Guard aircraft in a routine training mission. There were no casualties and the pilot ejected safely. A safety board will be convened to determine the cause of the accident.

A press conference will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Courses at Andrews on Joint Base Andrews. Media interested in covering the event should contact the public affairs office at (240) 612-4428 and plan to be at the Virginia Gate at 3:00 p.m.
