JBA, Dover units transport ground-breaking NASA probe

By Airman Michael S. Murphy 11th Wing Public Affairs

89th Aerial Port Squadron and 3rd Airlift Squadron Airmen, along with NASA employees, loaded the Parker Solar Probe onto a 3rd Airlift Squadron C-17 Globemaster III on Joint Base Andrews, Md., April 3, 2018. The probe will travel from JBA to Astrotech Space Operations in Titusville, Fla., where it will go through its final integration and testing before launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center this summer. The probe is slated to fly closer to the sun than any spacecraft made by NASA and increase our understanding of space weather patterns.
