What has being in the military allowed you to do that you wouldn’t have otherwise done?
It has allowed me to travel to Central America and go to college.
What's the coolest thing you’ve done in the military?
Installing all of the communications equipment in Dover AFB and Shaw Airfield.
What hobbies do you have/what do you do in your spare time?
I like to read, exercise, watch movies and TV and play with my dogs.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your life?
The biggest challenge was being there for my family, who lives in in Chicago, while being stationed elsewhere.
What are two interesting facts about yourself?
I am a huge Chicago sports fan and I have two dogs named Camille and Tyson.
How has the outbreak effected your job?
The biggest impact has been on responding to outages. Before it was easier because we were all at work, now it takes coordination to get to sites and have a sufficient number of team members.
What are you doing to stay active during all of this?
I exercise regularly and my dogs keep me busy.
How have you stayed resilient during the COVID epidemic?
I telework, which in many ways is more difficult than normal work. I'm also in school and I have taken up new hobbies. I recently refinished some tables that I had and started an herb garden. I am now trying to learn Polish and how to play the guitar.
Why is it important for Airmen to stay connected even during times of social distancing?
It is important to have a connection and a purpose. People need to know that they matter and are involved.
If you are teleworking, what are some things teleworking has helped with in your mission?
The biggest thing is being updated on technology. It has also helped us be prepared for the next time this happens. If we get back to normal and there is another outbreak we will be able to cue this playbook.
