Air Force District of Washington –
The winners of the Air Force District of Washington Logistics, Installation and Mission Support annual awards winners were announced March 16 on Andrews Air Force Base, Md.
Approximately 200 Airmen came out to cheer on co-workers, supervisors and friends as Col. Phillip Gibbons, AFDW vice commander and Col. Brian Bellacicco Logistics, Installation and Mission Support director presented awards to the winners during a ceremony at the base theatre.
"The A4/7 community makes up 53 percent of the entire Air Force and impacts every aspect of the Air Force mission," said Colonel Bellacicco. "Without A4/7, the Air Force mission would not succeed."
Each function of A4/7 has a unique and vital role in keeping the Air Force ready and mission capable, he said. The functional areas are Civil Engineering, Security Forces Squadron, Logistics and Contracting.
