JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. –
The 11th Comptroller Squadron, formerly housed in Building 1535, moved to a new, temporary location on Colorado Avenue, between F and D Streets, Dec. 29.
The new facility, Building R-105, is a pre-fabricated structure, designed to house the comptrollers and the Retiree Activity Office until the old Andrews Federal Credit Union building is renovated. Building 1535, scheduled for demolition in the coming weeks, is now empty.
"All comptroller services are available right here in one place, except for the cashier, which is located in room 2750 of the Jones building," said Staff Sgt. Andrew Morrow, 11 CPTS NCO In Charge of customer service. "Our hours of operation and phone numbers have not changed."
The transition was an easy one, according to Morrow, only requiring a day and a half of down time.
"The building is smaller, and there isn't as much room in our customer service waiting area, but we have much better parking, and the closer quarters make inter-departmental communication much easier," said 2nd Lt. Kathryna Fisher, Financial Services officer. "Our biggest obstacle to overcome is having our customers find us easily."
The temporary facility can be tricky to find, as no signs have been posted to mark its location. From the front gate, turn left at F Street, toward the commissary. The next intersection is Colorado Avenue. Turn right, and the building is on the left side of the street, across from the Navy communications facility.
Customers in need of finance assistance can reach the comptroller squadron at (240) 857-6377. The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, and Wednesday - Friday. On Tuesdays, they close at 2 p.m.
